Tissue explants taken from uterine fibroids show a nutlin-3 sensitivity as revealed by the increased expression of p21, BAX, and decreased expression of Ki-67 mRNA after 72 h incubation with nutlin-3 compared to the controls. Expression in the control explants (white bars, no treatment) was always set 100%. Ordinate: % change of expression compared to control. Hatched bars: 3 μM nutlin-3; grey bars: 10 μM nutlin-3.
