  1. aAccording to general code, Nepali people are divided into four hierarchies: Tagadhari (castes wearing sacred thread) considered as upper caste; Matawali (Alcohol-drinking castes) considered as marginalized caste; Pani nachalne chhoi chitto halnunaparne (Impure but touchable castes) and Pani nachalne chhoi chitto halnu parne (untouchable castes) were considered as lower castes. Details about reasons behind hierarchical positions are described elsewhere [51]. bLove/inter-caste marriage- In love marriage couple decide to get married with or without parents approval and if couples belongs to different castes and get married with or without parents approval is considered as inter-caste marriage. In the arranged marriage the parents of the bride and bridegroom agrees on the marriage with or without the approval of bride and bridegroom. cA couple and their children living together is a nuclear family and joint family is an extended form of nuclear family which includes grandparents and other relatives. In Nepal family members related to paternal lineage lived together in one house as a joint family
