Management of PPD

- Psychiatric treatment and care were seldom recommended by health care workers. Mothers sought help from traditional medicine and fortune tellers [30]

- More than two-thirds of women with common mental disorders at baseline had recovered by the follow-up assessment. None received formal mental healthcare [29]

- Mostly limited to long-term management of patients with psychosis or epilepsy [35]
